Manchester United chiefs Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell are facing increasing criticism alongside INEOS and the Glazers amid the club’s alarming decline.
Michael Carrick has won just two of his opening 12 competitive matches this season, despite guiding United to third place last term.
Sunday’s humiliating 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth intensified pressure on the hierarchy, with supporters openly questioning the club’s direction.
United spent approximately £155 million on three midfielders during the summer, signing Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
However, their failure to strengthen other positions has proved costly, particularly at left-back.
Lisandro Martinez publicly criticised Wilcox following United’s Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid, declaring: “I expect more from our technical director.”
The Argentine subsequently apologised after meeting senior officials, although his concerns reflected wider frustrations over recruitment.
Club legend Gary Neville has also questioned Wilcox’s suitability, arguing that he was given enormous responsibility prematurely.
Meanwhile, Berrada’s future has come under scrutiny, with journalist Adam Crafton questioning his accountability for United’s footballing failures.
Further uncertainty surrounds Carrick’s replacement, with Wilcox and Vivell reportedly divided over Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann.
Amid the growing turmoil, another senior figure has publicly confirmed his departure.
Stuart Burt has announced that he is leaving Manchester United after less than a year.
Writing on LinkedIn, the executive head chef explained that changes in working methods and processes no longer suited him.
He stressed that his decision was not personal, praising his colleagues and the restoration of a five-star environmental health rating.
Burt joined United in January 2026 before becoming executive head chef in April.
Previously, he held senior catering positions at Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City’s academy stadium and the University of Derby.
He wished incoming executive chef Jamie Smith success and hinted that another appointment would follow.
His departure concerns the club’s catering operation, not its football leadership.
