Amass, 18, has impressed since joining the blue half of Sheffield on loan.

Wednesday are all but certain to be relegated from the second tier of English football this season after two separate points deductions.

Even without the deduction, they have won once and drawn five in 18 games this season, but they currently possess a -10 points tally, 27 off safety.

Despite the lack of positives in the EFL Championship table or behind the scenes at the club, Amass has impressed at the left-back position and has even grabbed a goal and assist.

United are in discussions over which players are likely to depart the club on loan for the remainder of the season and Amass was one of the players mentioned.

There is talk of United keeping him in the squad, but there is further talk of another loan spell elsewhere with plenty of other clubs interested.
