Manchester United have entered another busy period as the club continues preparing for the next chapter across its football operations.
While transfer talks and squad decisions continue to dominate discussions around the men’s team, United are also making important changes within the women’s squad.
The club has been assessing its options across different positions, with experience and youth both playing a role in the decisions being made.
As the summer window progresses, departures and additions are expected to shape the direction of both teams.
United’s focus remains on building squads capable of competing while also planning for the future.
On the women’s side, Manchester United have confirmed, via their website, the departure of defender Hannah Blundell following the expiry of her contract.
Blundell’s time at the club ends after a spell that saw her work her way back to full fitness and return to action, including a substitute appearance in the dramatic 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion early last November.
She went on to make additional appearances from the bench before seeking more regular football in the second half of the season, eventually joining Everton on loan to secure more game time in the top flight.
Signed from Chelsea in 2021, Hannah Blundell leaves United having made 95 appearances in all competitions, placing her joint-eighth in the club’s all-time appearance rankings alongside Melvine Malard, while also contributing three goals from defence.
One of her standout moments in a United shirt came in the 2024 FA Cup final at Wembley, where she played the full 90 minutes in a historic win over Tottenham Hotspur as the club secured a major trophy.
Her departure marks the end of an important chapter for United Women, with Blundell leaving behind a strong legacy of success during her time at the club.
