Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur faced off in the Premier League today with both sides looking to push themselves into the European places.

The duo, who entered the game in sixth – Tottenham – and eighth – United – had come off the back of contrasting runs with Ruben Amorim’s side making it four unbeaten last weekend with a draw against Nottingham Forest whilst Thomas Frank’s side lost to Chelsea 1-0.

Both sides were without key members of their squad with Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo not featuring whilst Mohammed Kudus did not feature following Thomas Frank’s assessment on Friday.

During the game between the Red Devils and Spurs, Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring with a cushioned headed effort into the left side of the goal.

However, following this, Tottenham Hotspur equalised through Mathys Tel’s effort into the top right side of the goal.

Then, in stoppage time in the second half, Spurs took the lead with the goal credited to Richarlison.

However, this would not be the final goal with Matthijs de Ligt heading an effort into the net in the last minute of stoppage time to force the game to end 2-2.

The draw sees Manchester United move up to seventh whilst Tottenham Hotspur move up to third for now.

But, during the game, two members of Manchester United’s squad were injured leading to them being substituted.

The first of these was Harry Maguire who appeared to be reaching for his hamstring in the 72nd minute before going off the field.

Furthermore, following this, Benjamin Sesko was injured after a one-on-one chance which was saved.

Benjamin Sesko could be seen sitting on the ground before going off the field meaning that Manchester United had to end the game with ten men.

However, the extent of both of the injuries is not clear yet and attention could turn towards Ruben Amorim to see if the United manager can provide fans with initial insights.
