Manchester United are ready to battle AC Milan and Manchester City to sign Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari this summer. Jashari has already rejected the potential of joining Fulham and West Ham United amid their interest in signing the midfielder.
The highly coveted 22-year-old remains a target for the Citizens despite their purchase of Tijjani Reijnders from Milan this summer. At the same time, Milan wants to replace Reijnders with Jashari, highlighting the reputation he has acquired in Europe already.
The 22-year-old has also made appearances for the Switzerland national team at a very young age, showcasing maturity in performance. The ball-playing defensive midfielder has the qualities to establish himself in the United midfield, alongside captain Bruno Fernandes and others.
Jashari can maintain possession in tight spaces and make accurate distribution from the deep, maintaining his position and tactical awareness. The 22-year-old’s work ethic and physique could help him adapt to the Premier League with ease under Ruben Amorim’s tactics.
The Switzerland international made 52 appearances for Brugge in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing six assists. With uncertainty surrounding Kobbie Mainoo, Jashari would act as a good signing to compete with the Englishman and replace him in the worst-case scenario.
According to the Mirror, United have held talks with the representatives of Brugge midfielder Jashari amid interest from Milan and City. Milan are currently leading the race after submitting an opening bid of £25.6m while Brugge demands a £34m package.
United have prioritised the attacking department at the early stages of the season, having already signed Matheus Cunha. As United are inching closer to securing the deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, they must focus on the midfield.
Considering the price demand from Brugge, Jashari could be a shrewd signing if United opt to pursue it seriously. Rest assured, the Red Devils need to act quickly as top European clubs will not give them much time.
