There isn’t long left before Manchester United find themselves kicking off their Premier League 2025/26 season against Arsenal and the club needs to ramp up their efforts in the transfer market. The English club needs to start making moves, both in terms of arrivals and departures and close out the trailer before the main picture starts.
The Red Devils’ summer transfer window has been steady thus far, if not spectacular. The club have managed to bring in two high-profile attackers – Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Matheus Cunha from Wolves and also managed to secure an exit for Marcus Rashford to Barcelona.
The next few weeks could make or break Man Utd’s upcoming season and they need to be very careful about the moves they make in the market. Now, as per Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have established contacts to potentially sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer.

The versatile English attacker has been one of the best players for the Eagles in recent seasons. Capable of playing both as an attacking midfielder and on the left-wing, Eze has caught the eye with his quality in tight places and his ability to create chances for his teammates and also score goals.
The report mentions that Man Utd are not alone in their interest in the player, with Bayern Munich also expressing interest. Eze has also been extensively linked with a transfer to Arsenal this summer, although one wonders how the Viktor Gyokeres operation would affect their plans.
Eze has been dubbed a ‘drunken master’ for his languid style of dribbling. His game has continually developed with each passing season and at the age of 27, he is entering what would be considered the prime years of his career.
A £68m release clause for the Englishman is perfectly attainable in today’s market and definitely worth it considering the quality he brings to the table. Without a doubt, Eze would also fit into Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system like a glove as it helps him excel in a hybrid of his two preferred roles.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United push ahead to try and sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this summer. This could be a move that the club explores when they manage to shift out the likes of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony and let’s wait and see how things play out.
