Manchester United have been able to focus almost entirely on their Premier League campaign this season, with European fixtures only now affecting the Red Devils.
After failing to secure a place in Europe last season, United entered the 2025/26 campaign with only domestic football on offer, limiting mid-week fixtures throughout the season.
However, their instant elimination from the Carabao Cup at the hands of Grimsby Town saw one more potential trophy escape Ruben Amorim and his men, further allowing for focus on the league.
Unfortunately for United fans this doesn’t mean that fixtures haven’t been affted though, with regular movement due to broadcasting schedules.
In February, United have seen games against Everton, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur be moved for this exact reason, however another game is now set to be moved.
Amorim’s men are due to host Crystal Palace on 28th February 2026, however it’s now looking set to change according to Simon Stone.
Palace have been playing in the UEFA Conference League for the first time after winning last season’s FA Cup earning them a Europa League spot.
Unfortunately for The Eagles, due to multi-club rules and Lyon also in the Europa League, Palace were demoted, with Nottingham Forest taking their place.
Whilst Oliver Glasner’s side have qualified for the knock-out stage, they didn’t do well enough to avoid the last 16, seeing them face a two-leg play-off set for 19th and 26th Febraury.
With the second leg set for two days prior to their trip to Old Trafford, and regulations stipulating a 72 hour break between fixtures, the clash with United is expected to be pushed back to Sunday 1st March 2026.
Crystal Palace’s failure to make it straight through to the last 16 of the Conference League means they will have a play-off in February, so their game against @ManUtd planned for Sat, 28 Feb will probably be nudged back to the Sunday at 2pm.
