Manchester United continue to dominate headlines this week as they come up against Everton tonight, with the team pushing through a demanding stretch of fixtures while transfer discussions rumble behind the scenes.

Supporters have been keeping a close eye on squad rotation as Ruben Amorim looks for the right blend of consistency and fresh legs ahead of a crucial run of games.

Several academy prospects have also been involved in first-team training, adding an exciting layer of competition as United plan for the end of year part of the campaign.

Off the pitch, the club has been heavily featured across media platforms for a variety of initiatives and community appearances.

And as attention shifts towards the next block of matches, United fans have been treated to another feel-good story involving one of their own, this time away from the men’s team spotlight.

The main headline comes from London, where Manchester United forward Melvine Malard has been officially crowned the Footballer Fits Women’s Personality of the Year, marking another proud moment for the club, as United announced on their website.

Footballer Fits, a platform promoting athlete self-expression, explained the decision by saying: “The Manchester United and France baller has been a leading figure in athlete self-expression across the WSL and beyond in 2025, doing so with a smile on her face throughout.”

Melvine Malard, who joined the Reds in 2023 and quickly became a fan favourite, received her award at a special ceremony on Thursday. During her on-stage speech, she said: “I’m so happy, I live in England just three years now and I’m very proud of me, but also of what everyone in England has given me.”

She went on to speak about the roots of her expressive style. “It’s from my friends, my family.

“My personality, I enjoy the football, I’m a creative person and very positive and I like to put that always in my life.”

Malard also thank the organisers: “Thank you, FF Gala, because this is very good for us.

“We play football yes of course, but we have also other passions. Passion is fashion.”

She added: “I think everyone here is very beautiful and I think everyone here puts something different in your outfits. Guys, continue and thank you very much.”

On the same night, Nottingham Forest full-back Ola Aina was named Men’s Personality of the Year.

Malard’s flair has long been part of her identity, something United fans witnessed during the build-up to her first FA Cup final with the club in 2024.

She turned heads by arriving at Wembley in the iconic 1997–99 white United away kit bearing ‘Beckham 7’. Reflecting on the moment, she told Inside United: “That, for me, is normal because I remember it was the week of the FA Cup final, and I know a lot of legends played here.

“We need inspiration from these players and David Beckham is a legend here.

“When I put that on, everyone sent me messages and was like: ‘that’s good!’ Also, I like the style – it’s a bit of both.”

True to her word, she wore another retro kit – the club’s 1996–98 home shirt – when United returned to the FA Cup final this past May. “I have [got plans to wear more retro United shirts],” she said.

“They are at my home, but I need the good time to wear it!”

She has also earned another call-up to the French national team, further highlighting her growing influence on the international stage.

United will hope there are many more “good times” ahead for Malard — on the pitch, in the wardrobe, and across future awards nights.
