Manchester United goalkeeper officially joins Athletic Club

Manchester United’s goalkeeping department has undergone several major changes over the past year.

Senne Lammens established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2025/26 campaign.

The Belgian enjoyed an outstanding debut season after arriving from Royal Antwerp.

He made 32 Premier League appearances, kept eight clean sheets and later won the division’s Transfer of the Season award.

United have continued reshaping the position this summer.

Andre Onana returned to Trabzonspor after spending last season on loan with the Turkish club.

Meanwhile, Karl Darlow arrived at Old Trafford to provide Lammens with experienced competition.

Altay Bayindir could also leave before the transfer window closes, while Kit Margetson has joined United as another long-term option.

However, the changes have not been limited to Carrick’s first-team squad.

Another goalkeeper has now officially completed a move away from United and started a new chapter in Spain.

Former Red Devils shot-stopper completes move to Spanish side

Darlington Osuchukwu has officially joined Athletic Club after leaving Manchester United this summer.

The goalkeeper confirmed the move through his Instagram account, where he shared photographs of himself signing his contract.

Osuchukwu described himself as “deeply honoured and proud” to begin the next stage of his career with Athletic Club.

He also thanked his family for supporting him throughout his journey before adding: “This is only the beginning.”

The 16-year-old had already announced his Manchester United departure earlier this month after four years with the club.

Osuchukwu initially joined United at the age of 13 after leaving Spanish youth side Gazte Berriak.

Although United offered him the chance to continue at Old Trafford, the goalkeeper and his family decided that a move would provide the best route for his development.

Signs of a return to Spain first emerged in May when several teammates wished him luck through social media messages.

Osuchukwu will now continue his development within Athletic Club’s academy as he looks to build towards senior football.

His move represents another change within United’s goalkeeping ranks during a busy summer at every level of the club.
