Manchester United in 7-club race to sign Stade Rennes starlet

Stade Rennes starlet Desire Doue is expected to be highly sought-after this summer. That inevitably means that Manchester United will get linked to the youngster, which to the surprise of nobody, is already the case.

The Ligue 1 side may use the 18-year-old to secure a prominent transfer fee, with a number of top European clubs believed to be tracking Doue.

Doue has only come to our attention because of United’s apparent interest, though it says a lot that most top clubs are rumoured to be circling the player. He either has outstanding agents or this is a player on the cusp of prominence, emerging from France.

According to journalist Abdellah Boulma, there will be stiff competition for the youngster this summer as PSG are joined in the race by United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

We will see in the coming weeks if any of these clubs make a formal offer to sign Doue, who made 43 appearances across all competitions for Rennes this season.

Doue also recorded four goals and six assists. An impressive feat for such a young midfielder.
