Manchester United make contact for Alejandro Balde

Manchester United’s summer transfer window is in its late stages and, yet, more time remains for deals to be completed.

Whilst Carlos Baleba appears to be close to a move to Old Trafford, in an attempt to boost Michael Carrick’s options in the middle of the park, the club are also targeting the left-back position.

Lewis Hall had appeared to be Manchester United’s number one choice in the position although, given new contract talks between the full-back and Newcastle United are taking place, the deal’s probability is uncertain currently.

The Red Devils have also been linked with a move for Racing Santander left-back Jorge Salinas, who made his LaLiga debut for the club last weekend.

The 19-year-old has been linked with both Manchester United and Newcastle, but Racing have already pushed back on an offer due to it falling below their desired valuation.

With this in mind, journalist Fabrizio Romano has now stated that Manchester United made a call to Alejandro Balde’s agent, Jorge Mendes, to understand the full-back’s situation.

Romano has also revealed that Alejandro Balde arrived in Barcelona today.

The 22-year-old has previously been tied with a move to Manchester United, and earlier reports have claimed Barcelona were willing to listen to offers.

Alternative reports have implied that Alejandro Balde wants to stay at Barcelona, however, with his full focus and attention on the task ahead at the side.

With more contact made, it appears that Manchester United are assessing their options before making a decision.

The transfer window’s ever-closing nature may force The Red Devils into a choice soon, however, whether that be pursuing one of their targets or not signing another at all.

Whilst patience is essential, pace is also needed in this situation to ensure that deals are completed before the window closes. Full focus, therefore, remains on Manchester United.
