Manchester United are one of the sides aiming for continued success in the closing stages of the season.

With an unbeaten run of five games, following their draw with West Ham United on Tuesday evening, Michael Carrick’s side could look to take advantage through confirming qualification to the UEFA Champions League, which is the aim.

Meanwhile, with difficult fixtures against sides such as Manchester City and Arsenal already out of the way, the run-in to the end of the Premier League campaign looks to be easier than that of their rivals.

However, as with all forms of football, anything can happen and United will need to be on the top of their game if they are to succeed.

But, it isn’t just Michael Carrick that is looking to succeed at Manchester United this season.

Marc Skinner is also looking to succeed with his women’s side, who currently sit second in the Women’s Super League and have made the final of the League Cup.

Now, however, Skinner has confirmed that midfielder Ella Toone is likely to miss the final of the League Cup against Chelsea.

Speaking to Manchester United’s club media on the official United website, the manager stated: “Tooney [Ella Toone] is on track, so hopefully around the end of March to be back and around with the group, and it accelerates when she is on the field then.

“If we don’t have any further knockbacks, which we haven’t done, it’s been pretty good the healing process, we then should hopefully have her back towards the end of March.

When asked about the possibility of seeing Toone for the League Cup final, Skinner explained: “It probably comes a bit too soon that one, I would imagine aiming roughly around the City game, to be in and around, to see where we’re at. Hopefully, we can welcome her back then.”

Now, with this update provided, it appears that Manchester United will be without a key midfielder for their clash with Chelsea. However, with good depth, United may be able to effectively replace Toone.
