Manchester United officially complete fourth summer 2026 signing

Manchester United announce fourth summer signing

Manchester United have confirmed, via their website, the signing of exciting teenage winger Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur, with the move now awaiting final registration.

The 18-year-old England youth international arrives after an impressive campaign in North London, where he established himself as one of Spurs’ standout academy prospects.

Tynan Thompson enjoyed an outstanding season across Tottenham’s Under-18 and Under-21 sides, registering 13 goals and six assists.

One of his most eye-catching achievements came in the UEFA Youth League, where he scored seven goals in just seven appearances, showcasing his ability on the European stage.

His performances also earned him opportunities to be included in Tottenham’s first-team matchday squads, highlighting the faith the club had in his development.

Manchester United’s capture of Thompson comes after they were left frustrated earlier in the transfer window, having missed out on both Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham.

This time, however, the Red Devils have managed to take one of Spurs’ brightest attacking prospects instead.

Bundesliga side Hamburg had also shown interest in signing Thompson, but United moved quickly to secure his signature before other clubs could complete a deal.

The winger becomes Manchester United’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow.
