Manchester United officially win 2025/26 Floodlit Shield

Manchester United continue to succeed in cup competitions as the end of the season approaches once again.

The club’s Under-21s women’s side previously won the Academy Plate for the second second in a row, helping to signal towards the ongoing talent that is present in the academy.

Manchester United’s Under-14s were just as successful, too, with the side winning the Premier League Shield as they came through a nine-goal thriller to win against Liverpool.

Crystal Palace’s Under-18s were victorious against Manchester United’s Under-18s, however, with the Eagles winning on penalties in the final after United had took the lead.

Now, Manchester United have returned to winning ways through their Under-15s team with the team winning the Floodlit Shield against Crystal Palace’s Under-15s, as reported on the Palace website.

The match, which was played on Saturday afternoon, saw the United side fall behind to begin with although they came from behind to win the game late on with a headed effort from a corner.

For Manchester United, this latest victory in the Floodlit Shield is a signal towards the wealth of talent that is currently present in the academy and which could benefit the club in the coming years.

From the Under-14s to the Under-18s, and many other age groups, it is clear to see that the academy set-up is continuing to be successful for United.

Whilst the first-team has not returned any silverware this season, having been knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup whilst also not winning the Premier League, the side will be hoping that they can follow the momentum that the club has in competitions next season.

The Champions League could be a good opportunity to gain momentum next season, following qualification last week, whilst the club may also target domestic silverware in either the Premier League, Carabao Cup, or FA Cup.
