Erik ten Hag could be sacked by Manchester United in the summer.

The 54-year-old has been in charge at Old Trafford since May 2022 and has led United in 100 games, winning 60 of them.

But he has also overseen 28 losses, including a 3-1 defeat by rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

That result left United with a negative goal difference after 27 rounds of Premier League fixtures this season.

United recently welcomed Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a new co-owner following an investment worth $1.5 billion.

Ratcliffe and his INEOS Group have since been put in charge of football operations at the club.

According to the Daily Mail, United's players believe that Ratcliffe is likely to fire Ten Hag at the end of the season.

Ten Hag reportedly still has the support of the Old Trafford dressing room but the feeling within the squad is that the new ownership may wish to replace the Dutchman.

Should Ten Hag indeed depart this summer then Graham Potter, Ruben Amorim and Thomas Tuchel have all been touted as a possible candidates to replace him.

Ten Hag is under contract with United until June 2025. Therefore, he would be owed one year's salary as compensation were he to be sacked at the end of the current campaign.
