Manchester United prepare to cut ties with Erik ten Hag after conducting end-of-season review

The Manchester United hierarchy have seemingly reached a verdict on the future of Erik ten Hag.

His position in the dugout has been at the centre of widespread speculation in recent months amidst a tumultuous season for the Red Devils.

When the side went crashing out of the Champions League prior to Christmas rock-bottom of their group, supporters began to harbour concerns over his suitability for the role.

Such doubts only increased with United’s fourth-round Carabao Cup exit and dismal league form, which culminated in a lowest-ever Premier League finish (eighth).

However, Saturday’s triumph at Wembley over arch-rivals Manchester City saw the Reds crowned FA Cup champions for the first time in eight years, as they defied all the odds to overturn the league winners and make amends for last year’s final heartache.

Reports had suggested heading into the match that Ten Hag would be relieved of his duties regardless of the result, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. keen to appoint a manager of their choosing.

Indeed, this seems to be the case if today’s articles are anything to go by. Mail Sport and TeamTalk claim that United are now planning to part ways with Ten Hag after conducting an end-of-season review, presumably coming to the conclusion that the negatives outweigh the positives of his sophomore term.
