Manchester United have endured a drastic decline in recent years, with managers coming and going, players underperforming and enough ownership difficulties to last a lifetime. The Old Trafford faithful will be eager for a better season in 2025/26 after finishing 15th in the league, collecting just 42 points in the Premier League last season. Ruben Amorim will need to start the season strongly, and according to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are not giving up on Benjamin Sesko. They have presented him with the club project, and the player is reportedly impressed by their efforts. (More to follow).
All connected to the Red Devils will be desperate for an upturn in fortunes. Their Premier League performance was disastrous, with their suffering compounded by the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, leaving the patience of thefans at an all-time low.
There have been several departures from Old Trafford this summer, either permanently or on loan, including Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford. So far, the club have only signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Harley Emsden-James and Diego Leon.
However, as reported by Florian Plettenberg, Sesko is impressed by the club’s efforts to sign him. Despite this positive moment, Newcastle remain firmly in the race for the striker, who has been described as “just incredible.“
With Alexander Isak seemingly set to sign for Liverpool, the striker position will need to be filled at St James’ Park, and after last season’s struggles in front of goal at Old Trafford, it’s completely understandable that they are also pursuing Benjamin Sesko.
The potential of the RB Leipzig striker is huge. He’s not afraid of the physical side of the game, so he would offer a much-needed focal point to both Manchester United and Newcastle. He knows where the goal is and serves as an excellent outlet, something both clubs badly need. Who will win the race for the Slovenian striker?
