Anthony Elanga has left Manchester United to join fellow Premier League team Nottingham Forest.

The 21-year-old forward had been a United player since 2014 when he joined the club's youth academy at the age of 12.

Elanga - who has been capped 12 times by Sweden - scored four goals in 55 appearances for United, most of which came as a substitute.

According to BBC Sport, Forest have paid United a transfer fee worth around £15 million.

Everton had also been interested in Elanga, who trained with his Forest teammates for the first time on Tuesday.

Elanga has signed a five-year contract with Forest, who finished 16th in the Premier League last season.

In his first interview as a Forest player, Elanga told the club's official website: "It's a pleasure to be here. It's a proud moment, not only for me, but for my family as well."

He added: "It's a big step and I'm really looking forward to playing in front of the Forest fans at the City Ground.

"I had interest from elsewhere, but for me, Nottingham Forest feels like the perfect place.

"I've been here with United. It's a special place, but being here with Forest, I feel like it will be even more special. I'm ready for the challenge."
