Manchester United are ready to challenge Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to sign Brighton star Yankuba Minteh during the summer window. The 20-year-old has played a pivotal role for the Seagulls this season, after joining them from Newcastle United last summer.
Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League last season, enjoying a good season contrary to the one Man United experienced. The Red Devils finished 16th in the Premier League and also lost the Europa League final to Spurs last season.
Ruben Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag in the middle of the season but failed to change the fortune of United. The Red Devils need to back Amorim during the summer and sign the players who fit his tactical playing style.
With Alejandro Garnacho’s future uncertain and Amad Diallo’s persistent struggle with fitness, United lack the quality in the wings department. United have already moved on from on-loan players, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony, have no future under Amorim.
According to Fichajes, United are ready to challenge Tottenham and Liverpool to sign Brighton wide forward Minteh during the summer window. The 20-year-old attacker made 37 appearances in all competitions for Brighton last season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
Minteh has played as a right winger, left winger and also as a right-back for Brighton, showcasing his incredible versatility. The Gambian’s ability to adjust to the tactical demands of his manager could act as one of the prime factors.
Furthermore, Minteh’s Premier League experience is also a factor that could push United towards a serious pursuit of the player. The 20-year-old has a very high ceiling and has already displayed his immense talent at the topmost level at Brighton.
The Seagulls signed Minteh from Newcastle for £30m last summer after assessing him during his successful loan spell at Feyenoord. A lot will depend on the price that Brighton will demand for the wide forward, as they would want to recoup far more than what they paid for him last summer.
