The January transfer window is just one day away, as Manchester United look to improve their squad for the second half of the 2025-26 season.
United, who drew 1-1 with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday to leave themselves sixth in the Premier League table, have been linked with a number of players ahead of the window.
One of these players is Ruben Neves, who has been contacted by the club about the prospect of a potential deal.
However, Al-Hilal have offered Neves a new, improved two-year contract whilst the obstacle of the midfielder’s wages also stand in the way, therefore making a deal arguably complicated to negotiate.
With this in mind, the club may choose to look towards Kees Smit who, as CentreDevils exclusively revealed, is wanted by Manchester United.
But, whilst wages do not look to be an issue, the midfielder is wanted by several clubs including Real Madrid therefore adding a layer of complication to a successful deal.
Away from external signings, United could also look to recruit their recalling loan players from clubs in order to boost their current squad.
Now, Manchester United are set to recall three loan players.
According to the BBC, Manchester United have recalled Sonny Aljofree from Notts County whilst Elyh Harrison will also leave Shrewsbury Town.
Meanwhile, the source has also stated that discussions are also ongoing about the future of Habeeb Ogunneye, who has not featured for Newport County since early December.
In their respective loan spells, Aljofree made eleven appearances for County whilst Harrison made seven appearances, but lost his first choice place at the end of September.
Finally, Ogunneye has made 21 appearances for the club in all competitions.
With this news revealed, fans may look towards the club for an official announcement.
