Three Manchester United players were formally recognised with Premier League awards at Carrington on Thursday, with the presentations taking place after a first-team training session.

The recognition comes during a significant period of transition at Old Trafford as the club looks to appoint a permanent head coach in the summer following the sacking of Ruben Amorim earlier this year.

Casemiro has already confirmed his intention to leave at the end of the season, while last summer marked a clear shift in recruitment strategy with the arrivals of Premier League-proven attackers to strengthen the squad immediately rather than focus on long-term projects.

The players honoured were Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

All three players have impressed this season, with Mbeumo on double figures for goals this season in all competitions with Cunha on 6 goals and defensive midfielder Casemiro on 5.

Casemiro and Cunha both received medallions for reaching 100 Premier League appearances.

Cunha brought up the landmark after combining his earlier top-flight experience with his strong start following last summer’s transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, when United targeted established Premier League forwards.

Casemiro, meanwhile, reached his century entirely in a United shirt, having arrived from Real Madrid in 2022, and has remained a key presence despite growing clarity around his departure plans.

Mbeumo was recognised separately for scoring 50 Premier League goals.

The Cameroon international reached the milestone thanks largely to his prolific spell at Brentford before joining Manchester United, and his immediate impact this season (with 9 league goals) has underlined why the club prioritised proven domestic quality in the transfer market.

He is only the second current United player to reach the 50-goal mark in the competition.

The milestones were officially confirmed by Manchester United via the club’s website and social media, reinforcing the club’s recent emphasis on experience and reliability as they prepare for further squad changes this summer.
