Aston Villa entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Unai Emery’s men finally got their noses ahead in the 86th minute when Jack Hinshelwood scored an unfortunate own goal. The match ended with Aston Villa securing a narrow 1-0 win at Villa Park.

He made his fair share of saves during the game and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

He anchored the midfield well and was not shy of having a strike at goal.

Luiz was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

RW: Jadon Sancho – 6/10

He engineered a few decent chances for others around him but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.

CAM: Morgan Rogers – 6.5/10

Rogers caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders, but there was no goal for him tonight.

LW: Emi Buendia – 6.5/10

Buendia managed to shine at times on the left flank and was substituted in the 59th minute.

ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10

He struggled to impress during his time on the pitch.
