Mason Greenwood has excelled for Marseille this season as the French outfit pursue success in Ligue 1 and other competitions.
The former English international, who came through Manchester United’s academy, had been a formidable force at Old Trafford with 35 goals across a five-year spell with the club.
His move to Getafe, firstly, on a loan basis helped him to push further with ten goals in 36 appearances whilst his latest move to Marseille has only improved his football abilities.
Greenwood has faced difficulties, alongside his on-field successes, with trouble with Director of Football Medhi Benatia creating tension between the two.
Further scenes on the field, after a penalty shootout defeat to Toulouse in the Coupe de France, which involved furious supporters throwing flares onto the pitch towards players, has increased tension more whilst decreasing the positivity of the mood in the club currently.
SunSport has now reported that Mason Greenwood is looking for a way out with a move to Italian titans Juventus eyed by the former Manchester United player.
Sources went onto tell SunSport that “Mason isn’t happy at Marseille and has his heart set on a move to Italy because he knows he still can’t return to the Premier League.”
But, the outlet also understands that due to United getting a cut of the profit made in a deal, Marseille bosses are likely to demand an inflated fee which could affect the deal’s possibility.
Juventus currently fifth in Serie A and would miss out on Champions League qualification if they did not make it into the top four of the Italian top flight.
A title charge could be looked at next season if summer recruitment is decisive and smart.
Bringing Mason Greenwood to the club could be the start of this, considering the 25-year-old has starred in Ligue 1 with 15 goals and four assists in 25 appearances.
However, Marseille may want to keep Greenwood in the summer as they look to construct their own title-winning squad.
