Mason Greenwood officially gets new boss

Mason Greenwood has faced large periods of uncertainty at Marseille this season as he tries to establish success.

The former Manchester United player, who joined Marseille in 2024, is currently having his best season yet with him recently hitting 23 goals for the season.

However, with the departure of Roberto De Zerbi as the club’s manager, followed by speculation about Director of Football Medhi Benatia’s future at the club, he, alongside the team, has faced a large amount of off field trouble.

But, with Marseille just five points away from Lyon in third placed, Mason Greenwood arguably must stay focused if the side are to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Now, it appears that the former English international has got a new boss with Marseille taking to their official website to announce the appointment of their new Club President.

In a statement, the club explained: “Olympique de Marseille announces the appointment of Alban Juster as President of the Management Board.

“This decision was taken by the Supervisory Board, in accordance with the club’s bylaws.

“It forms part of an interim governance structure, pending the necessary steps to identify and appoint a new President of the Management Board.

“The club’s Management Board is now composed of Alban Juster, Alessandro Antonello and Benjamin Arnaud, the latter having been appointed as a member of the Management Board.

“Having been with Olympique de Marseille for eight years, Alban Juster previously served as General Manager Finance & Compliance Officer of the club. Benjamin Arnaud, who has been with the club for seven years, serves as Secretary General.

‘This structure ensures the administrative, financial and operational continuity of Olympique de Marseille.

“The club therefore continues all of its activities and pursues its sporting and economic priorities.”

With Alban Juster now at the helm as Marseille’s new Club President, attention could turn to see how he chooses to lead the club in the coming months.
