Pre-season training is underway at Manchester United, with the first week now wrapped up.

Even though just one new face has joined the starting line-up so far, the mood at Carrington seems upbeat. It’s been a quiet transfer window since Matheus Cunha made his £62.5m move from Wolves back on June 1st.

The Brazilian forward has made an immediate impact, saying his childhood support for the club played a big part in his decision to join.

Cunha has been handed the number 10 shirt. Even though Rashford’s exit isn’t official yet, the club went ahead and gave it to him. Reports say he wanted it because Wayne Rooney wore it during his time at United.

Getting off to a good start is always important for new signings, and by all accounts, Cunha has made a positive impression in his first week at Carrington.

His finishing ability has reportedly stood out in early sessions, which hasn’t gone unnoticed given how much the team struggled in front of goal last season.

He shared some photos on Instagram from his first few days, along with a message to fans.

Cunha wrote: “Ready for the new chapter,” adding a heart-on-fire emoji to go with the pictures from his first week at United.

A few of his teammates replied in the comments. Bruno Fernandes posted “Vamo que vamo” – which means “Let’s go, let’s go” – followed by a flexing emoji. Leny Yoro also added a quick “Let’s go!”

Joshua Zirkzee had already welcomed Cunha earlier in the week after they were seen linking up well during training. It looks like the Brazilian is settling in quickly.

Matheus Cunha expected to make Manchester United debut next week

This past week has given fans plenty to talk about as Manchester United returned to pre-season training. The arrival of Matheus Cunha has only added to that excitement.

The club has shared several clips showing off Cunha’s skills, and supporters are already getting excited about what he could bring, particularly his dribbling and finishing ability.

Of course, highlights from training sessions only tell part of the story. The real test comes once matches begin again and we see how he fits into Erik ten Hag’s plans on the pitch.

The wait won’t be long now. United face Leeds in Sweden next Saturday—an opportunity not just for fans to get their first proper look at him but also for him to start building chemistry with his teammates under match conditions.
