Matt Le Tissier aims bizarre dig at David Beckham for meeting Bill Gates
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier launched an odd criticism of David Beckham for posing with Bill Gates. Yes, we would advise you to grab your tinfoil hat for this one!

The former Sky Sports pundit took issue with Beckham sharing a picture of himself standing alongside Microsoft founder Bill Gates last year when the pair met at a conference run by the Gates Foundation.

Beckham wasn’t the only former footballer in attendance, with the likes of Didier Drogba and Michael Essienj also there to meet with Gates.

However, seeing Beckham with Gates has irked Le Tissier. The former Southampton midfielder was a big critic of the reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic and the UK government’s handling of it.

Speaking on a podcast hosted by former Wales international David Cotterrill, he said (via Goal): “My stomach turns when I saw that picture of David Beckham, [and] Bill Gates. I mean seriously, why? Why? You’re a good footballer, David. You weren’t world class, you were a very, very good footballer. At what you did, you were very good. Why are you getting involved? What are you getting involved with that bloke for? Do you have any idea what crimes he’s committed… I think it’s all part and parcel of that circle, of people of that level.”

Meanwhile, Le Tissier was took by a UFO after the podcast and he’s currently flying around the place with Michael Knighton.

It’s not like Beckham will be worried about what Le Tissier has to say about who he meets up with.
