In an unofficial swap of sorts, Matt Swiderski is now with Trackhouse Racing as the crew chief for Daniel Suárez. Travis Mack is now at Kaulig Racing. Mack, who had worked with Trackhouse and Suárez the past three years. Now, Mack and his counterpart Swiderski have jumped from one NASCAR team to the other.

Swiderski will be with the 99 team of Trackhouse. Meanwhile, Mack is going to work on that No. 16 car that Kaulig has yet to announce final plans for, but will likely come soon. The two teams made their announcements at around the same time this afternoon.

Trackhouse Racing had a fairly basic welcome to Swiderski. This should be a very interesting pairing in the Cup Series. Trackhouse already attracted Ryan Blaney’s spotter, Josh Williams (not the Xfinity Series driver) to Zane Smith’s team. Now, Swiderski is joining the House.

Meanwhile, Kaulig Racing welcomed Travis Mack with a graphic and a few more words. He is also going to be the Technical Director for the Cup Series. So, a little more responsibility than just being a crew chief.

“Travis Mack has joined Kaulig Racing and will serve a dual role as Technical Director, Cup Teams and Crew chief of the No. 16 Chevrolet. Trent Owens will continue to Crew Chief the No. 31 Chevrolet in 2024!”

Mack helped guide Daniel Suárez to his first career Cup Series win. Kaulig sees a lot of promise in his work and hope he brings a winning mentality to this No. 16 car.

We will see which team gets the better end of this deal. I’m sure both will find success in their new roles and on their respective teams.

Trackhouse Racing pairs Daniel Suárez with Swiderski

The folks at Trackhouse Racing are excited about this signing. Matt Swiderski has worked with AJ Allmendinger at Kaulig, which includes last year’s Roval victory and 2021’s Indy Road Course win.

Swiderski also had stints with Team Penske and Richard Childress Racing (Xfinity Series).

Justin Marks is happy about this new signing and duo that he will have in the 99 car. Daniel Suárez might need a fresh look at things to really find his groove again.

“Matt is a proven winner with a dynamic engineering background, and we are confident he will pair well with Daniel,” Marks said in a press release.

“Everyone sees what Trackhouse Racing is building and I am thankful for the opportunity to come to a winning organization and lead the No. 99 team,” said Swiderski. “I am looking forward to working with Daniel. We are both striving to achieve the same thing, winning. Every day we are going to work on perfecting the next steps that it takes to get more wins and compete for a championship.”

It seems Trackhouse views Daniel Suárez as their Allmendinger right now. He’s getting a win either on the road or on a superspeedway – unless he has a perfect race elsewhere. Swiderski knows how to win on the road with a strong talent behind the wheel, now he’ll have Trackhouse equipment and resources as well.

Do Swiderski and Suárez get a win in 2024?
