Mauricio Pochettino answers whether Cole Palmer can play vs Arsenal or not

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is currently partaking in a pre-match Chelsea press conference for their game against Arsenal tomorrow night.

Before the game, the latest injury list was published and three more key first team players joined this list.

It just adds to the woes of this season and Chelsea quite literally having the worst injury record I have ever known a club to have in one season. It’s really disgraceful and isn’t just bad luck.

One player who is on that list but is thankfully not injured, is Chelsea’s talisman right now, Cole Palmer. The England international joins the injury list because he has missed training today through illness, but what does this mean for the big Premier League match against Arsenal tomorrow?

Well, he is a doubt, and Pochettino has just confirmed that in his press conference today. But there is also a slight chance he might recover and make it in time.

“We see tomorrow morning,” Pochettino replied when asked if he thinks Palmer will make the game tomorrow.

“Today, I don’t believe he can be involved. Even if he will be good tomorrow, he may not be in a condition to play.

“With and without, we believe we can win. The most important is the team and collective. Of course, he’s an important part of the team. He’s doing fantastic. That’s Chelsea, plenty of players who can perform and do the job.”

I’d not be anywhere near as confident as I would be with and without Cole Palmer to be honest. He has literally carried this team all season and there aren’t many others who can literally create something out of nothing or score a goal from nowhere. We have other good players, sure, but Palmer is the main guy and if he doesn’t play, this will be a huge miss for Pochettino and Chelsea.
