Scott McTominay is in doubt for Napoli’s tough Serie A trip to Parma, confessed coach Antonio Conte. ‘He had some problems.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Tardini on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET).

The result is immensely important, as the Partenopei saw their lead at the top of the table from Inter cut to just one point following the 2-2 draw with Genoa.

Stanislav Lobotka limped off just 13 minutes into that game with a sprained ankle and is therefore not expected to feature tomorrow.

McTominay doubt for Parma vs. Napoli

Meanwhile, Conte confessed in his press conference today that McTominay is also a major doubt.

“McTominay had a few problems, more than one, but as always we will find a solution,” noted Conte.

“David Neres has recovered, but was out for 50 days, so he certainly isn’t fit to start. Parma are trying to stay in Serie A, so they’ll fight tooth and nail.”

According to Il Mattino newspaper, Tuttomercatoweb and more, McTominay interrupted Thursday’s training session early with a muscular issue and this was a big scare for the medical staff.

The 28-year-old has not been diagnosed with any lesions, so it is just fatigue for the muscle and he should be able to start against Parma.

The former Manchester United midfielder has been essential to Napoli’s Scudetto push, contributing 11 goals and six assists in 32 Serie A appearances.
