Wes Brown wants Manchester United to retain Marcus Rashford

Manchester United have seen many of their own rise, fall, and rise again. Marcus Rashford’s story fits that pattern perfectly. He was once the bright spark from the academy and became a symbol of hope for the fans. The 27-year-old attacker reflected what the club stood for.

Yet, the past two years have pushed him away from that familiar comfort. His current spell at Barcelona has started new debates across England and Spain. Brown said he couldn’t rule out the forward returning to Old Trafford. Much depends on what the club and the player decide at the end of the season. Brown noted that Rashford started strongly at Barcelona. He reiterated that happiness off the field often brings confidence on it. 

“It’s a tough one. He’s there for the season, and then nothing is guaranteed. I said before that I thought he would do well. He’s got the mentality to succeed, and we’d need to see how it worked for him, and it’s started really well so far.

Would I bring him back? I can’t say for sure, because it depends on what the manager wants next season, and it’ll be up to him and the player. You can see, though, that Marcus is loving life in Barcelona, and when your life is good, your football is good. It’s as simple as that.

He’s enjoying it, and I hope it carries on for him, regardless of the club he’s at. If it was decided that he comes back to United and he’s still in this form, then it’s only a good thing.”

For now, Rashford’s form in Spain makes many believe he wants to stay at Catalunya. We also reported earlier that Rashford is showing a clear preference to stay at Barcelona. That thought grows stronger by the day. The Catalan club hold an option to buy him for €35 million. His story might soon take a permanent turn away from Old Trafford.
