Francesco Camarda is one of the hottest young talents in European football, and Milan are determined to keep hold of their prodigious forward. According to Calciomercato, the Italians are one step away from tying their homegrown star down to his first professional contract amid growing interest from foreign sides.

Camarda was part of the Milan Primavera squad to have finished runners-up to Olympiacos in this season’s UEFA Youth League. The 16-year-old tallied three goals and two assists in the continental competition, attracting attention from numerous top European clubs.

After several Premier League sides, including Manchester United, Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have recently joined the picture. The Bundesliga heavyweights have approached the teenager’s camp to test the waters, but the Italian remains committed to Milan.

Outgoing Milan coach Stefano Pioli gave Camarda a taste of Serie A action twice toward the end of 2023. However, those were only cameo appearances, though it’s worth noting he was only 15 years old at the time. It was, nonetheless, a recognition of his unquestionable talent.

Now, Milan want to bind Camarda with a senior contract. While any agreement would have to wait until June 1 to come into force, the Rossoneri are keen to make the official announcement much sooner and put speculation to bed.

With Olivier Giroud departing and Luka Jovic expected to follow, Camarda could be part of the Milan pre-season squad. It would be a chance for the whizz-kid to impress the new manager. It will, in all likelihood, be ex-Roma coach Paulo Fonseca
