AC Milan are interested in signing young striker Lorenzo Lucca from Pisa but start the race to sign him from second place, a report claims.

Lucca scored his fifth goal in six games to start the season over the weekend and he did so at the Stadio Tardini against Gigi Buffon’s Parma. Calciomercato.com writes that he is a player who Serie A clubs have always seen potential in, as seen by the fact Sassuolo tried for a long time last summer to sign him from Palermo.

Now though it is Pisa who lead the league in Serie B and Lucca is a huge part of that. His growth has culminated by being called up for the U21 national team and Inter have been monitoring him with great attention for several weeks, aware of how important it is to observe the progress of a striker with such potential.

Milan – who are always attentive to talented young players – asked the 21-year-old’s entourage for information but it is Juventus who are on pole position given they boast a preferential lane with Pisa by virtue of the excellent relations with the former Claudio Chiellini, brother of Giorgio and current sporting director of the Serie B side.

There have been first contacts which are in progress and a negotiation could begin by the end of the international break.
