Multiple media reports have linked Milan with Ligue 1 stars Youssouf Fofana and Khephren Thuram, but what’s the truth behind the transfer rumours?

The Rossoneri are gearing up for an important summer transfer window as they look to close the gap to league leaders and rivals Inter, who’ve looked a cut above their counterparts in Serie A this season.

Milan have already started to identify a number of interesting targets ahead of the summer and have reportedly set aside around €40-50m in their budget for a new number 9, needing a long-term replacement for the Los Angeles FC bound Olivier Giroud.

Milan summer plans

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on the reported interest of Milan in Fofana and Thuram via Caught Offside.

The Rossoneri are looking for a central midfielder in the summer in order to add another layer to Stefano Pioli’s squad, but neither Fofana nor Thuram are options, with the club instead focusing on other targets to strengthen their midfield.
