AC Milan are in talks with Ismael Bennacer to extend his contract by another two years and there are positive feelings emerging, according to a report.

Milan signed Bennacer from Empoli in the summer of 2019 as part of a window that saw the management sign other players such as Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao who have now become a part of the core. Bennacer has formed part of a very effective double pivot alongside Ivorian Franck Kessie and also the young Italian Sandro Tonali.

According to the latest from Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan are moving to extend his contract which is currently set to expire in 2024. The idea is to add two years onto that deadline – therefore having it run until 2026 – with a pay rise to acknowledge just how important he has become to the team.

Longo adds that the first contact were made this summer with the agent of Bennacer during the negotiation for Yacine Adli, who is also his client, and there are ‘good feelings’ about the outcome of the talks.
