Reports on Thursday afternoon suggest that Milan are looking at a potentially serious injury to €37m summer signing Ardon Jashari after a training ground incident during the morning’s session.

Fear of serious injury to Milan midfielder Jashari

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed during his pre-match press conference ahead of Friday’s trip to Lecce that Jashari would be unavailable after a coming together with Santiago Gimenez in training.

However, reports from multiple outlets including Sky Sport Italia and SportItalia confirm that Jashari has suffered an injury to his fibula, and that there are concerns that the injury is ‘serious’.

As things stand, there have been no official updates other than Allegri’s comments during his pre-match press conference, but Sky claims that the 23-year-old is at risk of a significant spell on the sidelines as a result of the injury.

SportItalia, however, claims that Jashari might have suffered a fracture to his fibula. La Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, claims that Jashari will miss a minimum of two months, although the situation will be clearer once the player reports for further medical tests.

As things stand, the Switzerland international is the most expensive Serie A signing of the summer transfer window following his €37m transfer from Club Brugge earlier in August.
