The Milan management have begun to look at how they will replace Franck Kessie who is currently unwilling to extend his contract, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the difficulties surrounding Kessie’s renewal have led the club to probe the ground regarding other midfielders ahead of the 2022-23 season. The Ivorian does not want to renew at the amount that has been offered by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, so at the moment a farewell seems inevitable.

However, the management cannot be found unprepared so they are looking at possible replacements. Renato Sanches is certainly a profile that the Rossoneri are keen on, but Lille currently want €30m to sell him even if over the next few months that could drop given his deal runs out in 2023.

Another name that Milan like is Boubacar Kamara of Marseille, and compared to Sanches he has much more defensive characteristics and therefore could be more of a like-for-like replacement. Not only that, but the 21-year-old is a market opportunity because his deal expires next June.
