It has been speculated about for weeks but now it is official: tomorrow night’s game against Salernitana at San Siro will be Stefano Pioli’s last in charge of AC Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirm that – as has been widely documented in recent days – the game tomorrow will be the last match for Olivier Giroud, Simon Kjaer but above all Pioli, who will depart after nearly five years.

According to what was reported by the newspaper, Milan wants Pioli’s farewell to be a celebration and the club preparing a surprise. No details on the modalities are revealed, but one thing is certain: the song ‘Pioli’s On Fire’ will not be part of the San Siro playlist before Milan-Salernitana .

The choice to remove it from the setlist of songs that play from the stadium speakers before the match ‘was made by the coach at the beginning of last November, with a clear motivation: Milan should not live on memories but conquer new ones new’.

Even the Curva Sud Milano – after the silent protests against Genoa and Salernitana – will return to singing again in the second half of the game because they want to give Kjaer, Giroud and Pioli a proper farewell.
