Milan will attempt to bring Federico Chiesa back to Serie A this summer after his brief experience at Liverpool, claim reports in Italy.
The winger won the Premier League title in his first season, but only made 14 competitive appearances for the club due to injuries and poor form.
He still managed to contribute two goals, but is looking for more regular playing time so that he can get back into shape and into the Italy squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
According to DAZN reporter Orazio Accomando, Milan will propose a loan deal with option to buy for Chiesa this summer.
The 27-year-old is a product of the Fiorentina youth academy and left Juventus for €12m plus bonuses last summer, when the Bianconeri did not offer him a new contract.
Milan’s budget will be lower this season, as they have failed to qualify for UEFA competition, but they can guarantee Chiesa more regular playing time.
It means if he was to make the move, Liverpool would need to share some of his €7.5m per season salary.
They are not the only interested Serie A side, as Roma have also been linked, as well as Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in Turkey.
