Milan have officially announced the signing of left-back Pervis Estupinan on a permanent transfer from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 27-year-old, who has spent the last three years on the English south coast, joins the Rossoneri for a reported fee of €17m plus up to €2m in bonuses and add-ons.
He has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2030.
The forward-thinking left-back, who is expected to take over the mantel from Theo Hernandez following his move to Al-Hilal, is Milan’s fourth new signing of the summer transfer window, adding to the previous additions of Samuele Ricci, Luka Modric and Pietro Terracciano.
Estupinan is the first Ecuadorian player in the club’s history. He has decided to wear the no.2 shirt for the 2025-26 season.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce that Pervis Estupiñan has joined the Club on a permanent basis from Brighton & Hove Albion FC. The Ecuadorian defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2030,” a statement on the club website read.
“Born in Esmeraldas (Ecuador) on 21 January 1998, Estupiñan started his footballing journey in LDU Quito’s youth system. He made his first-team debut for La U in September 2015 and went on to make 45 appearances for the club.
“He then had spells at Granada, Almería, Mallorca and Osasuna before joining Villarreal. With the Submarino Amarillo, he made 74 appearances and won the Europa League. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Brighton and went on to score five goals in 104 games for the Seagulls.
“He made his full international debut for Ecuador in 2019; to date, he has 48 caps and four goals for La Tri.
“Pervis Estupiñan will wear the number 2 shirt.”
Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler added: “I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here.
“He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that. I’d like to thank Pervis for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.”
