Milan are weighing a late approach for Noussair Mazraoui, with the Manchester United defender under consideration as the Rossoneri review their options before the deadline.
According to CaughtOffside, Milan have kept the Morocco international on their list throughout the summer, though the level of interest has moved up and down. It cooled in July when a separate defensive departure at San Siro was blocked.
The link is straightforward enough. Ruben Amorim coached Mazraoui at Old Trafford before taking the Milan job, and was clearly a fan of his versatility and technical ability. The Moroccan defender can play at full-back, wing-back or on the right of a back three, a profile that suits a coach committed to a three-man defence.
Mazraoui has also changed representation during the window, switching to Panthera, which is being read as an indication he is open to leaving.
United hold the stronger hand. He joined from Bayern Munich in August 2024 and is contracted until 2028, leaving the club under no obligation to entertain anything short of a substantial offer for a player who provides cover across several defensive positions.
