Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has completed his transfer to Napoli on loan with obligation to buy for a reported total fee of €21.5m.

The goalkeeper arrived this morning for his medical tests and was given the all clear.

Although he had a release clause in his contract set at €20m, Napoli agreed to pay a slightly higher fee in order to have the option of spreading out the payment over several instalments.

That is why this is a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Milinkovic-Savic new signing for Napoli

The Serbia international is the younger brother of former Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 28-year-old has been in Italy since 2017 at Torino, also having loan spells with SPAL, Ascoli and Standard Liege.

VMS has 146 Serie A appearances, keeping 45 clean sheets, and has 19 senior caps for Serbia.

He will be competing for the gloves at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with Alex Meret.
