Serie A sides Monza and Genoa are said to be tracking Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva for the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sport Italia expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the two northern Italian clubs have set their sights on the Portugal Under-21 international, who has 10 goals in 19 junior caps for his country.

They are hardly alone, as Freiburg are also in the running for his signature in a six-month loan deal.

Wolves spent €40m to secure Fabio Silva from FC Porto in September 2020, but he has been sent out on loan spells at RSC Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven.

With one goal in 10 appearances this season between the Premier League and EFL Cup, another loan in Serie A is on the cards for Genoa or Monza.

The Grifone are seeking more strikers after Mateo Retegui sustained another new injury ruling him out of last night’s game with Juventus.

As for Monza, they lost Gianluca Caprari to a serious injury, then his replacement Papu Gomez was ruled out by a two-year doping ban.
