Moroccan media react to Noussair Mazraoui’s performance against Zambia

Morocco are currently undertaking their AFCON 2025 campaign, with Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui forming a part of the squad as they aim to win the tournament.

The nation, who won the FIFA Arab Cup in 2025, called Mazraoui up as the side prepared for the tournament.

Furthermore, in the tournament so far, the side have won games two games whilst also drawing one game.

One of these wins came against Zambia on Sunday, where the Moroccans won 3-0 due to two Ayoub El Kabbi goals either side of a Brahim Diaz finish.

Meanwhile, in the game, Noussair Mazraoui kept a clean sheet, made two tackles, had one clearance, an interception, two dribbles, and won all his ground duels.

As well as this, with a draw against Mali, Morocco now sit top of their AFCON group and have qualified for the Round of 16, although their opponents are yet to be decided.

With the fixture now finished, the Morocco media have now been reacting to the game, Morocco’s performance, and Mazraoui’s performance.

Firstly, North Africa Post stated that the game was largely “one sided” and expressed the dominance that Morocco showed.

Meanwhile, Al Mountakhab stated: “Regragui relied on him in this match as a left-back after he played in the previous two matches on the right side.”

The source also stated that “his performance was good and active on his left flank, where he contributed to a group of attempts, with his intelligence and focused passes, and played in the center as usual with his realism and easy style.”

With the media now having their say, attention from the Morocco team could turn towards their Round of 16 clash in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the side could look to continue their progression towards the title.
