Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou has spoken about Tawanda Maswanhise after Celtic boss Martin O’Neill was spotted watching the striker this afternoon.

O’Neill was at Fir Park with Assistant Manager Mark Fotheringham, watching 23-year-old Maswanhise find the net.

Speaking after his side beat the Dingwall outfit, the Danish manager confirmed that there was no plan to move on any of his squad in the final two weeks of the window.

“Am I calm about it? Yeah. There was also interest in our players in the last window.

“That interest has been growing and will hopefully grow until we find the right moment with the player to move them on.

“That moment is not now. We’re halfway through a fantastic season so far, but there’s still room for improvement and that’s what we’re going to chase.

“We can’t keep Tawanda forever, and we shouldn’t keep him forever.

“But there’s no plan for any of our players to be moving on now, and there has been no-one coming with a big wish on that.

“On the contrary, everyone is really committed and excited about what we’re doing, and that’s the track we’re taking.”

In 27 appearances, the attacker has scored 15 goals and assisted on 2 occasions. Celtic need to add goals to the team, especially having lost and failed to replace Adam Idah, Kyogo and Nicolas Kühn.

Celtic require to add more quality to their ranks, especially with next weekend’s crucial clash against Hearts at Tynecastle.
