The Conferenza dei Servizi regarding the potential San Siro sale to AC Milan and Inter has just concluded.
Per Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the City of Milan will demand guarantees during the estimated seven-year development period.
Milan and Inter have finally opened talks with the Municipality for the purchase of San Siro and surrounding areas.
Populous representatives joined the clubs at the conference, signaling continued interest in the ‘Cathedral’ project.
A final ‘decisive’ meeting will follow soon to give the official green light.
However, the city has set several conditions, including increased attention to environmental elements and surrounding neighborhoods.
Missing from the submitted documents are key financial details.
Indeed, construction costs, urban development charges, demolition, and remediation costs for the stadium remain undefined.
Furthermore, the Lombardy Region will also submit feedback, particularly concerning commercial zones.
Meanwhile, the Heritage Authority confirmed the 70-year preservation rule for the second tier of San Siro won’t apply before November.
Still, the Comitato Sì Meazza insists the stadium deserves cultural protection.
The Committee’s claim is that it should be inalienable regardless of its age.
However, AC Milan and Inter remain confident of getting the deal over the line.
