Daniel Levy proud of the lasting impact he has had at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have seen many ups and downs in the last few seasons. Champions League eliminations, inconsistent performances in the Premier League and the lack of trophies have disappointed fans several times over. The club’s journey in the Europa League last season continued to create hope, and finally winning the trophy by defeating Manchester United was the moment every Tottenham supporter had been waiting for years to happen.

Changes continued this summer as well. Daniel Levy appointed Thomas Frank as the new manager and strengthened the foundation for the future by signing attacking players like Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel. The club are no longer just happy with the Europa League title, but are targeting a strong return to the Champions League in 2025/26. Levy’s decisions have again raised hopes in the fanbase, and his words in his latest interview clearly reflect confidence in his work. Meanwhile, Frank has even stated who might replace the departing Son.

What did Levy say?

In a recent interview, Levy told Gary Neville on The Overlap that his real work will be judged when he leaves the club. He believes that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the biggest achievement of his tenure. Levy also indirectly said that other clubs are now following his strategy. According to him, the stadium has given Spurs a new identity on the global map and has played a big role in increasing jobs and economic activity in North London.

Levy believS that by having a multi-purpose stadium, Spurs are also benefiting from concerts and NFL games, and this is making the club sustainable. He stated that this kind of thinking is necessary for long-term success. Levy said that bold decisions had to be taken and criticisms had to be faced, but today Spurs stand with a new strength.

“I think it’s one of those situations – when I’m not here I’m sure I’ll get the credit. When you come here and look at this wonderful building (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium), and the fact that other clubs are now trying to copy what we’re doing, that should be a sign that maybe we did do something bold, and something right.

“The construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is my greatest achievement, and I’m not doing it again. This stadium is a symbol of Tottenham Hotspur on the global map. I think it’s fantastic for the local community – the employment that we’re creating because of this stadium.

“We’re very conscious that we want this area to improve economically and the activity that this stadium brings is very significant for locals.”

The multi-purpose stadium features the world’s first dividing, retractable football pitch, which reveals a synthetic turf field underneath for NFL games, concerts and other events. It helps to generate income and provides jobs for those around the area, and its construction is something Levy has got right since being the chairman of the club.

To be honest, as Tottenham fans, we have always been at a crossroads with Levy. Trophyless years and some questionable managerial appointments have added to the frustration. Still, we give him full credit for a completely futuristic project like the stadium. Today, with one of the best football stadiums in the world, Tottenham have become a serious European force. Champions League qualification and Europa League wins show that the foundation is finally looking strong.

Yes, Levy doesn’t always make perfect decisions, but his long-term vision gives the club a different stature. If Spurs start winning trophies regularly with a blend of Thomas Frank’s impact and new attacking signings, then perhaps the respect for him will grow in the hearts of fans. We want Levy to listen to criticism, understand fan expectations and bring some emotional understanding to footballing decisions. We remain a hopeful Spurs supporter, with the dream of winning trophies becoming Tottenham’s true identity.
