Manchester United are looking to reinforce their left-flank, with Myles Lewis-Skelly finding his way onto the club’s shortlist.
For some time now the club have had issues with their left-back role.
Under Erik ten Hag, both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sustained long-term injuries, seeing Diogo Dalot cover the position for over a year.
Then under Ruben Amorim, he moved to using dynamic wing-backs, seeing Shaw move to a left-side centre-back in his back three.
As such, Dalot continued as the left-wing-back, with Patrick Dorgu being signed to the role, however falling to second best to the natural right-back.
Now, with Michael Carrick at the wheel, a back four is back in play at Old Trafford, with Shaw returning to the left-back role.
However, he’s 30 years old, so United need a long-term replacement for him, with Dorgu proving to be more impressive on the wing in an attacking role.
As such, Myles Lewis-Skelly has emerged as a potential option, with The Daily Mail now reporting that he’s been offered to The Red Devils.
The report from Nathan Salt explains that intermediaries have offered him to Manchester United in a search for more game time.
This season he’s only made 27 appearances, having not played in the Premier League since 8th January 2026 when he came on for first-choice Pierro Hincapie in the 57th minute.
Despite his lack of senior game time lately, the 19-year-old is still featuring on the international stage, playing for Lee Carsley’s England Under-21s.
On Friday, the England side drew to Andorra 1-1 in a qualifier for the 2027 Under-21s Euros, with the side now preparing to face Moldova later tonight.
While Lewis-Skelly’s focus for the international break is clearly on the England squad, his long-term plans are now more up in the air.
However, with the summer transfer window being only a matter of months away, the 19-year-old could be seeing him take his place at Old Trafford for next season.
