Napoli have officially announced the signing of centre-back Sam Beukema on a permanent transfer from fellow Serie A side Bologna.
The Partenopei have officially confirmed the signing of Bekeuma, who joins on a five-year contract worth a reported €3m per season in wages, which will run until the summer of 2030.
It is understood that Napoli have agreed to pay a total sum of €30m including bonuses for the Dutchman’s services.
Beukema becomes Napoli’s fifth new signing of the summer transfer window, following the previous arrivals of Kevin De Bruyne, Luca Marianucci, Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca.
As is customary with Napoli signings, President Aurelio De Laurentiis was the first to formally announce the news with a tweet that read ‘Benvenuto Sam’ a few moments before the announcement from the club’s official channels.
The 26-year-old defender joins Napoli after a two-year spell in Emilia-Romagna with Bologna, during which time he made 80 appearances across all competitions, including all eight games in the club’s historic Champions League campaign last season.
Only Remo Freuler has made more competitive appearances for Napoli since Beukema joined the club from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
And, only two defenders in Serie A, Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Evan Ndicka, have completed more passes than Beukema over the last two seasons.
“Thank you, Sam, for these last two years spent together and best of luck for the rest of your career,” read a farewell message from his former club, Bologna.
