Corriere dello Sport reports that Aurelio De Laurentiis has personally conducted negotiations to sign Darwin Nuñez from Liverpool, meeting the agent tasked with brokering the striker’s transfer, Fali Ramadani.

Napoli President De Laurentiis has personally met agent Ramadani to discuss Nuñez’s transfer to the Stadio Maradona.

De Laurentiis in talks for Nuñez

Talks between Liverpool and Napoli are stalling, so De Laurentiis personally spoke to the man tasked with brokering Nuñez’s move this summer, despite not being the striker’s agent.

Corriere dello Sport confirms that the Liverpool striker is open to joining the Partenopei, so an agreement on personal terms is not expected to be an issue.

Nuñez open to joining Napoli

Napoli, however, have not yet agreed on a transfer fee with Liverpool. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds’ asking price is €60m, but Football Italia sources insist Napoli can get the deal done for circa €50m.

Napoli, however, have been reluctant to offer more than €43m for the Uruguay international who is expected to leave Anfield this summer.

Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca is their primary alternative, but the Italian striker would cost at least €40m.

Ramadani is the agent of another Napoli target, Federico Chiesa, and an ex-Napoli centre-back, Kalidou Koulibaly, who joined Chelsea from the Azzurri in 2022.
