Napoli director Giovanni Manna confessed they are ‘looking around at opportunities’ amid reports of Kevin De Bruyne and Jonathan David talks, but wants them to focus on tonight’s game with Genoa.

It kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET).

The Partenopei could already count on a three-point lead at the top of the table going into this weekend, and have the added advantage of already knowing Inter’s 2-0 victory away to Torino before setting foot on the pitch this evening.

Napoli closing on Scudetto glory

“We said many times that Inter are a strong squad built to play in all three tournaments, which just shows what we are doing now,” Manna told DAZN.

“We congratulate Inter on reaching the Champions League Final, they are playing wonderful football, but we knew already that we’d have to win today.”

There have been multiple reports that Napoli are in advanced talks with both Manchester City midfielder De Bruyne and Lille striker David, who are free agents this summer, but Manna refused to comment.

“It is only normal that we are looking around at opportunities, but I think it is absurd to talk about the transfer market now, when we are three games away from achieving a dream. Having said that, of course we are keeping an eye out and staying alert on what could happen.”

There are still some issues for Napoli to contend with, as Alessandro Buongiorno and Juan Jesus are injured, with David Neres only fit for the bench, so Matias Olivera is again used as a makeshift central defender.

The most important news is that Stanislav Lobotka starts despite an ankle sprain.

Because Inter have beaten Torino today, it means they are temporarily joint top of the table with Napoli, who have a game in hand.

“I always believed this squad could cause problems for Inter right to the end. However, being three games from the end right at the top, I challenge anyone to predict that. What these lads and the coach have done is incredible, so we need to enjoy every moment of it,” concluded Manna.

“The atmosphere in Naples is extraordinary, we are well aware of the situation we are in, we want to make the people of Naples proud.”
